Joint Replacement(Arthroplasty)

Joint Replacement(Arthroplasty)

Any joint is made up of bones, the cartilage overlying the bone ends, and other soft tissues which work as buffers and give additional structural support to the bony framework. When the joint undergoes aging or due to some other reasons like trauma (fracture), perticular diseases etc, the cartilage is worn out followed by dissolving of underlying bones. This rough surface is very painful on rubbing over each other (two opposite bones friction creates development of inflammatory swelling and so the structural deformity.

Joint replacement surgery is a surgical procedure of orthopedic surgery where an arthritic or damaged joint is replaced with an artificial joint called prosthesis – an implant made of metal, plastic or ceramic which can provide normal movement between the joints. The most common joint replacement surgeries are knee, hip, elbow and shoulder.

Most of these arthritis patients are managed by physiotherapy, medicines and brace support. But when arthritis becomes high grade, the rough surface of joint is exchanged with smooth surface on both ends of bones (making joint) and alongwith that the alignment is also corrected. For this Aalok Orthocare Hospital serves to the patients with THE STATE OF THE ART "JOINTLESS (MODULAR) OPERATION THEATRE" WITH "CLASS 100 LAMINAR AIRFLOW SYSTEM."

We have THREE Well-Equipped Operation Theatres out of which one is Joint less Operation Theatre for Joint Replacement, Arthroscopy and Spine Surgeries
